Which idea should we start with?
GET STARTED WITH VOTANEO
Your first poll, step by step.
One clear question is enough to start. Learn how to build a poll, invite participants and use their answers.
Works in the browser. Participants can join without an account.
From account to answers
Create a free account and open a presentation
Log in to Votaneo and create a presentation. Give it a name you’ll recognise, such as Monday meeting check-in.
Add a poll question
Choose Poll. Write a short question and add answer options. Try asking: What do we need most today? Offer time to think, more perspectives and clear next steps.
Preview before you start
Check that the question and options are easy to understand. The preview shows sample data rather than collected answers.
Start the presentation
Show the presentation’s code or QR link on the shared screen. Ask participants to open the link or enter the code in their browser.
Let the group answer
Go to the question, read it aloud and give people time. They can submit an answer without an account.
Use the results and end the session
Show the results when it suits you, discuss the distribution and choose a next step. End the session when the presentation is over.
Find the answers again
Return to the presentation’s results to see the completed session. Starting the presentation again creates a separate session, keeping each set of answers together.
Free includes eight saved or active results in total. To free up space, delete results you no longer need. Basic and Pro also include exports and results reports.
If the group can’t join
- Check that the presentation is still active and that you’re showing the right code.
- If QR scanning doesn’t work, ask a participant to try entering the code.
- Check the internet connection on the presenter’s and participants’ devices.
- Ask participants to wait until you open the question. The waiting screen is expected before the question opens.
Build on what works
Add an open-ended question after the poll to find out why people chose their answers. Or try a word cloud as a check-in next time. Pick the question types that fit your meeting.
